Punjab govt to promote bio-gas technology

RAWALPINDI - order to mitigate the energy crisis and adopting alternate resources for energy, the Punjab government has started taking steps to promote bio-gas technology scheme in the province. 
On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 would be provided to 10 applicants in each who will be interested in getting constructed and installed bio-gas plant in the rural areas where Sui gas facility is not available. In Rawalpindi, balloting was held in the office of District Officer Coordination (DOC) Rawalpindi to announce ten successful applicants for bio-gas plants in the presence of the applicants and members of the balloting committee. Secretary Agriculture Punjab Arif Nadeem constituted a five member 
committee in each district of the province headed by concerned DCO and District Information Officer, Agriculture Engineer, District Officer (Livestock) and Assistant Agriculture Engineer (field) as its members for the purpose of transparent balloting in the presence of applicants for bio-gas plants
